I’m Guilherme Pires, a filmmaker and photographer driven by people, collaboration, and the power of storytelling. Growing up often sick and beating the odds, cinema became the place where I learned empathy, courage, and the value of human connection. That foundation shapes the way I work today, present, curious, and committed.
Originally from Portugal, I built my career across borders and became the first student in my university’s history to win a National RTS Award. My projects have earned multiple nominations/ awards, and my latest film screened at the Picturehouse cinema. Alongside directing, I specialise in the technical side of filmmaking, lighting, camera work, practical effects, VFX, editing, and on-set problem-solving. I enjoy bringing both creative vision and technical reliability to productions.
What matters most to me is the team. I show up prepared, collaborative, and focused, creating a space where ideas can grow and challenges are dealt with quickly and calmly. At its core, filmmaking is a shared effort, and I’m at my best when I’m working with others to bring any project, no matter how big or small, to life.
